The Challenges

Maasyiral Muslimin Rahimakumulah,

Let us remain truly conscious to Allah s.w.t. through taqwa. Every Jumaah, we gather to increase our taqwa, to strengthen the relationship between us, and to reflect upon the developments of our Muslim community.

Let us refresh our iman, develop our taqwa, and continue to do good. On this day, through prayers (solat) and the sermon (khutbah), Allah s.w.t desires for us to uplift our understanding of religion, to strengthen our iman and taqwa, and to self-introspect ourselves by examining our past.

As a muslim, we must remember what Allah had said in the Holy Quran

Wert thou to follow the common run of those on earth, they will lead thee away from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but conjecture: they do nothing but lie.(Al-An’am : 116)

For those who just came to Japan, it is about 6 to 7 months we here, by this time, we have experience and see the Japanese culture that surround us. Many things we can learn from them such as, to be on time, their good transportation system, their highly advanced in technology development and others.

Besides good, there is also a ‘not so good’ part that we must and never to follow. As we all can experience it by now, as we can see, wine, beer and pig is also part of the culture. We as a muslim is not allowed to eat them as stated in the Holy Quran

‘O believers! Wine and gambling and idols and divining arrows are only unclean things, a work of devil (Satan) then save yourselves from them, so that you may prosper.

Dear Blessed Congression

When we looked at our surrounding, with maksiat is all around us, we think that we can avoid all of them all alone and by ourselves. But deep in our heart, sometimes we cannot ignore that when we are alone, we are week. Therefore, we need someone to keep and always remind us about what we are doing. That’s is what friends are for.

We must somehow heard a story about an ahlul ibadah who fall with a work of Satan and followed their desire that bring to maksiat.

My Beloved Brothers

Before we came here, our families had place us with a very high expectation for us to success, to be an examples to our families, and the hope to finished our study so that we can be a successful person and also to archive success in the hereafter as well. Most of them think that, we have enough knowledge about our religion, we can differentiate which one is good and which one is bad. Most of us, I am sure, know how to pray, and other basic things in this religion.

But the real world that we faced here and now in Japan, required us not to have those knowledge, but to practice it. Knowledge about ibadah and other basic things in Islam is not enough, we must practice it especially with other people.

One of the way to practice it is to practice it together with people who wants to do good together with us. And remember to strengthen our ukhwah because it is important when we are abroad and to have strong ukhwah so that it is hard for syaitan and our desire to have control over ourselves.

Lastly, united we stand, divided we fall.
